Learn how to play the d major scale on the piano with this lesson tutorial from LessonsOnTheWeb's learn to play piano series. This lesson tutorial is the base for playing in the key of D Major, so I recommend you watch this lesson before playing in the key of d major.
Notes:
The key of d major has two sharps; f and c. This scale represents all of the notes that exist within the key of d major. This means the d major scale also has the same two sharps. As you can see in the tutorial the fingering for the right hand and left hand are different so I recommend learning them separately at first them putting them together very slowly. The fingering while ascending for the right hand is 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and the fingering for the left hand is 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 3, 2, 1,. The fingering while descending for the right hand is 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 3, 2, 1 and the fingering for the left hand is 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. I hope you enjoyed this piano scales tutorial for beginners.
